I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the author. This was a brilliant start to a series. Once I started reading I could not put it down until I was finished. Alexandria, Jules and Felix became my best friends for the day, and to be honest I'm kind of at a loss without them today. I really enjoyed Shanora's writing style, it flowed really well. Some authors jump about and chop and change through scenes but Shanora took me EXACTLY where I wanted to be. It had just the right amount if suspense that I had to just keep reading and when I did have to put it down for 5 minutes to pick the kids up from school I was still thinking more about what's going to happen, than I was thinking about my actual journey to school. Well Done Ms Shanora Williams. I will be impatiently awaiting any other books you write in the future.

Ok, so I am not one of those people who give long book reviews that give too much away. So the short and sweet version is..... This book is about a girl that has memory loss. She meets these 2 amazingly HOT guys. She has a history with both of them, but can't remember. She must choose between the two in then end. if she chooses wrong they herself and Jules could die. I read this book and fell in love with Jules and I want to marry him. Its a very good book and you will enjoy reading it. I know there will be a book two and I am praying for more. If u like books about Angels you will love this book. Please go read it shoanora williams rocks and she holds her readers attention. never a dull moment.

3 1/2 StarsThis was an unexpected surprise and a pretty good read, too. Not to mention the story flowed with ease although, there were a few word choices I would have replaced and a minor typo here and there, but for the most part, I enjoyed it very much.If you like paranormal with a mix of guardian and fallen angels, (oh and a seriously delicious love triangle), this book will definitely keep your interest. Williams is a new author to me, but she's certainly on my radar and I would gladly enjoy reading more of her books.

WOW!! This was such a change for Shanora!!! AND I LOVED EVERY STINKING MINUTE OF IT!!!I've been reading Shanora's work and I am proud to say that I am totally loving watching her progress as one of my most favorite authors. Alexandria Marshall has been through so much, even though it takes better than 1/2 of the book for her to realize it. She's lost her memory and we are introduced to her 4 years post memory loss. She works in a coffee shop, struggling to support herself and her older brother "pot-head", Liam. One thing that I absolutely love about Shanora's writing is how vividly she describes her characters, the scenery around really do feel like you're fully immersed into her world. I love Shanora's characters. Jules we say yummy with a capital Y!!?? An artist, mysterious....and when we learn of the past that him and Alexandria have together...intensity to the max!! But of course, Alexandria can't have it all easy...introducing Felix Wells. Another scrumptious man to add to the mix, but in a way different from Jules. Well bred, successful, and confident...Felix spurs something deep within Alexandria. Something that she can't put her finger on...something that she can't deny. Alexandria is torned between Jules and Felix...and I love how realistic the turmoil is. She's young, confused, and in love....but who will win her ultimate'll have to read it to find out. In the middle of all of the love story turmoil, Shanora throws in a supernatural twists involving Guardian Angels and Fallen Angels. Without giving anything're going to love it. I am anxious to see how she builds on this part of the story in the next book in the series. All in all - this was a great read!! Read it, loved it, reviewed it!! Awesomesauce!!!

First off I would like to thank Shanora Williams for giving me a copy of Obtained. I enjoy reading it and I got dragged into the story big time. I wanted to see what happens next with Alexandria,Jules and even Felix. The way Alexandria thought about Jules was amazing i love that he was always there to protect her and his feelings for her was so loving and caring.. Wish I could find me a Jules that is for sure. Then you have Felix and the way she thought of him made me not want to trust him but at the same time he would do anything to protect her as well. There is a lot of twist and turns in this story that is for sure. Some of them i was surprise by myself. Shanora you had me at the edge of my seat while reading and i loved it. I am so looking forward to seeing what happens next and to let everyone know it is worth the read you will be at the edge of your seat with Obtained.

ARCThis is the first paranormal YA i ever read and i must admit that i really loved it. Beside the paranormal story in it that was pretty new to me, there were a lot of twists and turns that kept me reading it along with the right amount of suspense. I'm looking forward to read what happens next !Well done Shanora !

First of all I would love to thank the author Shanora Williams for providing me with a copy of Obtained in exchange for my honest review. I had read the synopsis and was intrigued by the story and was curious to find out what it was all about. Let me tell you that I was feeling all kinds of emotions while reading it. For me the book was broken up into two halves. The first half I was pulling out my hair in frustration and wanting to repeatedly bang my head up against the wall because of the insta-love triangle...I was taken aback at how quickly our main protagonist, Alexandria Marshall, fell in love with not only the quiet and brooding artist, Jules Maddox, but also with the enigmatic, rich and suave Felix Wells, all in the same day. I knew from the start that Jules was the one for her and that Felix was really up to no good. I really didn't feel drawn to him and felt that the relationship with Alexandria was forced. However, Jules felt more real and true, and it did help that he was willing to do anything and everything for her, even if it killed him. What irked me more in this half of the book was the fact that she would kiss and pant and want Felix one second and then she would be doing the exact same thing with Jules an hour after leaving Felix, and vice versa. Leading both men on and forcing me to scream at the book, insisting she pick one guy and hoping it was Jules *sigh* tall, with chocolate brown eyes and dark curly hair that fell in his eyes...seriously, need I say more. The second half of the story I swear I could not put down...BOOM! It took off and all the fun and action really started. I mean, there were so many twists and turns my head was spinning and I liked it. You didn't know who to trust and I loved all the suspense surrounding all the supernatural elements involved. I was intrigued and captivated and needed to find out all the answers that had me asking throughout the entire story. I was thoroughly relieved that the story was going somewhere and excited that it all came into play. There is obviously so much more to the story, since this is book 1 of the series, and I look forward to the next instalment. I really enjoyed this book, even though I was frustrated at times, which is a great thing. It means that the author has got you where they want you to be, right in the midst of the story. Great job, Shanora Williams.

Oh wow, where to start. First off, I was intrigued throughout the whole book. I wanted to know so badly what happened to Alexandria to make her lose her memory. You find out the answers throughout the book, but there was always some sort of tidbit information that wouldn't be revealed just yet. If I had the time I would have read it straight through, but unfortunatley I couldn't do that. Any chance I had I was reaching for the kindle to get a little farther in the book. I love the plot of the story and it definitely set up a good storyline for the next book in the series. I'm dying to know how everything with Alexandria pans out.Now onto the characters. I like Alexandria and my goodness she is lucky to have two men vying for her love. I am hoping that once she gets her training and finds her wings that she will be the strong woman I know she can be. I really want to see her kick [email protected]# in the next installment. She doesn't know who to trust and who can blame her. It seems that so many of the people she cares about are keeping things from her. I really envied her though with Jules and Felix. Jules is the mate she had forgotten when her memory was lost. She had a life with him, but when the incident occurred and she lost her memory she was without him for 4 years. He was close by though keeping watch of the woman he loves. Of course, Jules is the handsome man that we all want to swoon over. He's a strong and fierce mate and will do anything to keep Alexandria safe. You see his protectiveness all throughout the book. It made me fall hard for him.Felix,.....*sigh* I really enjoyed Felix's character. I think he might be my favorite of the men. He gives off the hint of arrogance, but I find that appealing in a strong character. He holds a passion and possessiveness for Alexandria that I find intense. I didn't know who to side with when it came to the men because they both fought so desperately for Alex's heart. Alex's heart is torn because she grows to adore and love both men, but who will she end up with in the end? Will she ever do what she has to do to find her wings? I hope to find out more in the next novel. I strongly recommend this book and I will be reading the next one.

Review of Obtained By: Shanora Williams5 of 5 Stars! This book was beyond amazing, this book grabs you by the hand and carries you through it until the end. Shanora did an amazing job setting up characters and getting the book started. This book takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions but 99% of the time it is good emotions. There is so many choices for Alex it is unreal. I can’t say I didn’t want more but I can say that it’s killing me having to wait for book two. I hate to give spoilers so I will leave you with my thoughts. Obtained is no ordinary novel, it is simply lovely and heartwarming. Sometimes you get worried and stressed while flipping pages, there is definitely a lot of sexual tension and happiness and who knows what team you will end on. You will finish this book breathless and I mean it.Just a side note: The boys will be hard for you to choose between. It is like chosing between water and air. Jules is air because you can only breath when he is around and Felix is like water, you’d die without him.Alex – Such a worrier, she thinks too much and trusts no one. It is a bad quality and gets her into trouble. She doesn’t think the best of people because she doesn’t want to be hurt and she is a little bit of a push-over. Throughout the book she becomes more and more stronger. She becomes a fighter and a person you’d hope you’d be in her situation.Jules Maddox – This man is beyond what any girl could want, he is sweet, overbearing, protective, and strong. He has awesome qualities and doesn’t take no for an answer. He is probably the hardest guy to get to know and once you do you are hooked.Felix Wells – He is a dream guy for most people, he is rich, great looking, and a total gentleman. He is a sweet-talker and apparently an amazing kisser. He is one of the reasons I loved this book, he was the hardest bad boy to get over, I usually pick one side in this book but I kept going back and forth and Felix is my favorite. He is technically not the “right” one for Alex but I believe he could be.

What an amazing read.....Shanora, you rock!! I absolutely loved the story line and the love triangle is intense and extremely interesting. However, I have to pick a side and I'm definitely a Jules fan all the way. There is just something about his connection to Alexandria, as her mate, that really melts my heart. I want a guy like that in my life. Felix has a really strong presence in the story, but he is just to rough around the edges for me. However, he makes for a wonderful counter part to Jules!! Alexandria is a great lead female role. She is strong but she is also fragile. I really love the way these two characteristics play a role in her part. I really felt for her about her memory lost. I can't imagine not knowing what happened in your life prior to the time you wake up and have no idea what happened. I was really glad that Liam was there to take care of her. I also liked his role in the story. He really cares for his sister and he is trying to mask all of his stresses with substance abuse. However, he really does love her and would do anything to know that she is taken care of. As for the other characters, I want to be best friends with Chris, Mindy makes me want to slap her, Braxton is the shocker of the century, and Stace is someone I would totally want to hangout with. I loved Braxton from when he first entered the story, but then my opinion quickly changed as the story progressed. I won't say much more, because I don't want to give anything away!! So I definitely give this read 5 stars, because it hooked me from the beginning and didn't let me go until the end. Now I'm craving book 2. I also want to thank Shanora for allowing me to read this book as an arc. You are such a talented author and I can't wait to see what you have to come!!

I received an ARC of this book but I had been seriously busy and didn't get a chance to read it until now! I was between 4 and 5 stars for this book as I think that sometimes it was a bit slow but then something big would happen which would drawn me back in again! I wasn't expecting the paranormal element to the plot at all so I was very surprised with what the paranormal element was! I have to say though that I did love the paranormal aspect to Obtained! The plot instantly drew me in as soon as I started reading and I really enjoyed it! There was also loads of action in it as well! I loved the characters as well as the plot! Alexandria "Alex" Marshall was the main character and Obtained was told from her point of view! Alex was such a strong character! I really connected with her and I loved that she didn't believe Jules when he told her what he was and that he had to prove it to her! I also love that Alex didn't use Jules and Felix! There was most definitely a love triangle in this book between Alex, Jules and Felix! This is the first time that I have ever read a love triangle and I have no idea which side I am on! I loved Jules and Felix for different reasons! I loved how protective the both of them were of Alex and I loved both of their relationship developments with her as well! The ending of this book was just full of action and I couldn't believe who the bad guy turned out to be! I am really looking forward to seeing where the next book in the series goes and the girl on the cover is exactly how I pictured Alex! Big thank you to Shanora for an ARC of Obtained!

OMGGGGGGGGGGG!!!This book had me on edge practically all day and night!! I receieved it as an Advanced copy so here I am! While reading it, I found myself completely indulged! I have to say that the development of these characters was brilliant. From Alexandria, Jules, and Felix, to Braxton, Stacy, Liam, and even Chris, the gay manager! HA!I loved this book. There were plenty of twists and turns and if it wasn't one thing, there was another. There was a love triangle but it felt so realistic. I could feel how Alexandria felt for Jules and Felix. But I have to say that after reading this, I have to go with Felix! There was just something about him that I loved. Jules was so sweet with a bit of a temper but with Felix... *swoons* that man was one beautiful creature. Now, I won't provide the twist to the story. That, you'll have to figure out on your own but let me tell you know, you will not see it coming. Shanora happens to have a way of twisting the story and catching you completely off guard... but only in a good way. Shanora, I love watching you progress as a writer. I'm proud to call myself a loyal fan because not one of your pieces, I have disliked. And most know me as a picky reader so that says a lot!I say buy this book, read it, and love it! You won't regret it!

Can you say Jules!!!!!!! I was hooked from the moment he was introduced. I wanted him under my Christmas tree, if I was Alexandra I wouldn't have cared if I lost my memory I would have believed him! This book had me so hooked I didn't put it down. Like all of Ms. Williams' books I devoured it. I felt for the characters, I lived in their world. My imagination was completely captivated with this fabulous world the author created. There really aren't any words to describe what I was feeling as I read this novel. OK, maybe I could name some like: amazing, captivating, engaging, exciting, fantastic, and beautifully written. I have read all of Shanora Williams books, and to see all the growth she has made in such a short time it amazes me! the characters alone seemed so real, Jules--God!! he alone made the story for me. Felix was sexy, confident, and very cocky. In any other world I would have chosen him. I love me a bad boy, if you read any other reviews I have written you will see--bad boy, sexy smile, where?Ms. Williams why must you read me? I have to wait till when for book two? and can I have Jules? please?I give this book give stars! And I recommend this to anyone and everyone who loves a story that keeps you hooked! And the hot guys can't hurt, everyone loves a love triangle!!!!!

Absolutely loved this book. It just gets better and better the more you get into the book. Felix was my favorite because he is just the guy you love to hate. Jules was a sweetie and sounds fabulous but Felix was my fav. I sincerely can't wait for the next book to come out. Read this book in about a day because I just couldn't put it down.

Alexandria doesn't have a great memory in fact she can't remember much of anything. The last few years she has been trying to live her life as normal as she can. She lives with her brother and works in a coffee shop. She doesn't date at all but she is attracted to the strange man who comes into her work everyday. One night he saves her and she learns his name is Jules. He seems to know a lot about her but she doesn't know him. Answering a knock on her door one day she comes face to face with a stranger. Felix ask her out and the two go out on a few dates. She should be happy now but Jules comes back and begins to tell her how they are mates and she has a past he was part of. She has to choice between her mate and between Felix who has secrets of his own. She must figure things out pretty quick about her forgotten past because danger coming from her from two different sides. There is several fantastic characters in this book. I like Alexandria she has a lot of struggles at times but tries her best. When she is faced with her past she doesn't believe or want it right away. She fights against it. I like that it makes her more believable as a person. I didn't like how she could choice for a while between the two guys but I can see how she would be confused. Jules has my heart because he wants Alexandria but wants what will make her happy even if it is not him. Felix is a good guy but a few things I didn't like about him is he tries to control Alexandria I think. He wants what is best for her to but he tries to control her to get it. This book got my attention right off the bat as I was wanting to know why she had no memory. It is a little different than other paranormal books and I like that. You never really know who to trust or what Alexandria is going to do till the end. Has some great and heartbreaking fight scenes one I couldn't believe what happened.I held my breathe during it till I got to the end of it. This is a good read and I look forward to what is next for Alexandria and to see were the author goes next. The book gets better the more you read and will keep you guessing until the end. Great start to a series.

Rating: 3.5This is actually the first Guardian Angels paranormal book that I'd enjoyed. It totally had the hook, line, and sinker vibe. It was very action-packed. I love both Felix & Jules and I can imagine how difficult it is for the heroine to choose. However, all along, I think Alex was infatuated with Felix because of his brooding-dominate-intimating-hot self rather than loving him. It's more lust than anything. I love how Jules never gives up on making her remember the love they shared before her memory loss. He was so determine to keep her safe and always put herself first. He was so selfless. The third triangle aspect did bothered me at one point--where she kept going back between them and having all these naughty thoughts of them. (view spoiler)[ I was like "Come on!! Pick one and stay with one. Stop making out with one and switch to the other at the next scene!!"(hide spoiler)] I am just glad she got her closure at the end. I am a tad bit disappointed because I really did have high hopes for her to discover at least one of her angelic gifts sometime in the story, but that wasn't the case. She was a damsel in distress all the way to the end. I hope she returns home from London being a badass angel with some ninja skills so she can fight for herself!!! Overall, this book was good, but it didnt really give me the "yearning" feeling at the end for the immediate sequel. However, I will be reading the next one whenever it's available.

omg. this was am awesome book. i hated going to bed and not being able to finish reading this. i was so torn between Jules and Felix just as Alex was.Alex lost here memory four years back. her dad died, her mom went crazy and all she had left was her brother Liam. a pot smoking alcoholic who was always high and hardly there for her. when Alex meets two hot guys she cant believe her luck but strange things are happening now. she's always been infatuated with Jules. he's always at the coffee shop where she works sketching in his book. there is just something familiar about him that keeps Alex fixated on him. then there's Felix. the rich young hot guy who just happens to knock on her door one day to ask to use the phone. Alex is instantly attracted to him too. Felix is young but as the owner of his dads company he acts older than he really is. Jules is sweet and loving and Felix is proper and a gentleman. Alex is torn but as things from her past start to unravel she is forced to choose. how do you choose. see who she picks and what happened to cause her memory loss. I'm still drooling over these two guys. mm who will you pick?

I won a copy of obtained from Shanora and started reading it right away. Just in the first few chapters I was hooked! Shanora has written such an addicting story I finished it in one sitting I just couldn't put this book down. Alexandria, Felix and Jules are perfectly written characters. I find my self in love with Felix I know there is more to him that hopefully will be shelled out in the next book. Jules is also quiet a nice mental image form the way Shanora explains him in the book and he is such a great guy but there's just something that pulls me in with Felix. Alexandria is a great lead she's she comes off as a push over but when her mind is made up that's it! She's smart beautiful and strong. One of the things I like a lot is the secondary characters are not drowned out in this story there people to who you find your self liking just as much as the leads! So all in all I recommend this book to everyone because it has a bit of everything in it so all readers will enjoy this book so get this book review it if you can and tell your friends and family because this book is worth the read

First reaction: OMG!!!! I forced myself to stop reading when I had 50 pages left because I was NOT ready for this book to end!!! Sooo Shanora Hurry up with number 2 haha. I loved getting the chance to read this before it released! Alexandria is clueless to who Jules is but he sits in the coffee shop where she works everyday around the same time because she is his mate and he is protecting her and hoping she will remember who he is... In comes Felix. Mr hot business suit wearing gentleman.. I didn't trust him, and I still kind of don't but shhhh don't tell him that. The twist in the book is a nail biter and the make out scenes are HOT. *fans self* lol.So far I have loved everything that Shanora Williams has written.Book List (that I have read)Helena ZaneThe Story of Jackson HaddockObtained (Obtained #1)

Such an amazing book! One thing I have to say is that Shanora Williams is an fantastic author. She captivates her readers within one page of her writing and that's not an easy thing to do. I love getting a new book that within the first page I can't put it down, and this was one of those books. I absolutely love the characters Jules Maddox and Alexandria Marshall. Jules has some of the characteristics that I admire most in a character: loyalty, bravery, and a will to never give up. The storyline of this book was unique and refreshing to read and I look forward to reading more books in the future by this amazingly talented author. I highly recommend this book!

"Obtained" will keep you entertained from beginning to the end. This book has two of the most charming characters (Jules & Felix). No matter how hard you try you will fall in love with both men. I try to stay away from paranormal books but this is one series I will follow to the end. Shanora Williams has done an amazing job in keeping me entertained. All I can say when it comes to this book is to expect the unexpected, there are so many twist and turns in this story but it truly makes the story that much more excting. This is one book that you will hate to put down. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

WHERE TO START!?!?Shanora tosses in a mix of romance, battles, and of course, hot men! This book was awesome and I honestly kept craving for more. Even while I was at work I would sneak a few chapters in just to satisfy myself. At first i thought there was going to be a cliff hanger at the end but there wasn't. I can't wait for book two because I know there will be more to it and more in store for me to love.Oh.. and I must say that I'm team Felix. He may have seemed like the bad guy, but I could see the good. There was a thing about him that kept me wanting more. Jules was a beautiful man and i could tell that he loved Alexandria to death but I'm all Felix. He can have me!

First of all, I normally don't enjoy reading, let alone have time to read as a mom to an almost 9 month old! Ms.Shanora and I went to school for many years. I was very excited to read this novel, she advertised it all over facebook so I decided to give it a try. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! I read it in less than 24 hours from start to finish! I am personally Team Jules; I have been from the start! I highly recommend this book anyone and everyone who enjoys reading because you just can't put it down! I am going to start it all over again very, very soon! Overall, breathtaking novel! I loved every second of it! If you haven't read it, get it today!

I really loved Alex she spoke her mind, not caring what others would think. Well depending on who she was with. "I prefer the simple things Where people's heads aren't stuck up their asses and their noses aren't held up in the air." I felt more of a connection between Alex and Felix then Alex and Jules, I really hope in the second book we see more of Felix. I truly like him more then Jules. I was a little disappointed in Braxton I truly thought he would become one of Alex's confidants, but I guess I was wrong. I truly can't wait for the next book in the series Shanora had a great way with words!

Alexandria's life was a jumble to start with and falling for both Felix and Jules doesn't make it any less questionable. This is a tail of love, trust, loss and amnesia that you will not put down.Shanora's writing is gripping and phenomenal. She takes her readers by surprise and then by their heart. Her characters are realistic and engulfing. Their story is mesmerizing and heartfelt. The plot line is very original. I would highly recommend this book to fans of Stephanie Meyer, Francesca Lia Block and Jessica Sorensen.
